Religion plays a large role in the book series "A Song of Ice and Fire" by George R.R. Martin. This website was designed by me, Nicole Baldwin, while completing a Religion course at Memorial University. The purpose of the site is to examine the religions created in the book series as well as to discuss how they are connected to real religions in our world. I will also analyse how magic. sorcery and illusions are important to the religion and plots of the book series. I will also discuss the criticism that religious organizations have had about the books' expression of religions. While the discussion will mainly focus on the books it is impossible to ignore HBO's Game of Thrones, which is based on the book series, and the cultural phenomenom it is.
